Platform Engineer, Americas

We’re looking for a curious, rigorous, problem-hungry platform engineer who codes to help Ashby scale its product and infrastructure.

Our customers include Notion, Linear, Shopify, and Snowflake. We grow >100% year over year with over 2,500 customers and low churn.

• Optimize our homegrown ultra-dynamic recruiting DSL-to-SQL compiler and create tooling for developers.
• Create automated guardrails for security and privacy of customer data.
• Help developers ship features fast through canary deploys, gradual rollouts, and feature flags, while keeping complexity manageable and reducing downtime.
• Work with business and engineering to define SLOs and implement corresponding SLIs.
• Ensure all communication with external services supports retries and circuit-breakers.
• Implement infrastructure to support an event-driven architecture and data warehouse.

• You obsess over solving hard problems and do “deep dives” until you understand them.
• You do not take shortcuts; you advocate for future users, edge cases, and doomsday design.
• You care about your team and want to work with people who make you better.
• You have built infrastructure at a later stage than Ashby (millions of data points, automated provisioning, monitoring, release).
• You are a Swiss‑army‑knife; you can tackle infrastructure updates, security, database optimization, Kubernetes debugging, etc.

• Experience with large-scale infrastructure, at least in the millions‑data‑point range.
• Strong programming skills in at least one of Type Script, Go, Python, or similar.
• Hands‑on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Prometheus, and Grafana.
• Knowledge of database engines (Postgres, Redis) and event‑driven architectures.
• Comfortable writing and reviewing code; ownership of end‑to‑end projects.
• Excellent communication skills in an async culture; ability to share best practices via code and documentation.
