Senior Product Architect

Senior Product Architect, Internal Tools (f/m/d) – The Customer Insights & Adoption (CIA) team is hiring a senior product architect to design and build internal products that help Contentful teams work smarter. This hands‑on role is about 60 % implementation and 40 % architecture and planning, where you’ll ship code, own technical design, and shape internal tools that improve customer experience, sales, and partner‑facing teams.

• Own and evolve a focused set of internal tools, utilities, and integrations for Customer Experience and cross‑functional internal users.
• Lead R&D and rapid prototyping to identify high‑leverage solutions and decide on lightweight, operationalized, or hand‑off builds.
• Build production‑quality front‑end & back‑end code, including API design, data flows, resilience, observability, and robust internal UX aligned with the design system.
• Apply component‑based and front‑end best practices to ensure consistency, scalability, and maintainability.
• Leverage Contentful and other internal platforms to create reusable patterns and scalable solutions without reinventing common capabilities.
• Explore web crawler and scraper approaches, structured extraction workflows, and AI‑assisted workflows where relevant.
• Collaborate with IT, Info Sec, Platform, Legal, and Privacy partners on responsible data handling, hosting, identity, compliance, and operational readiness.
• Define success metrics, instrument telemetry, report impact, and document architecture & playbooks for stakeholder understanding.

• Internal teams rely on a focused set of tools that are easy to use, well adopted, and improve how work gets done.
• Tools are consistent, scalable, reliable, and align with Contentful’s design system and platform standards.
• Stakeholders can see impact through adoption, time saved, data quality, and reliability.
• Cross‑functional partners view CIA as a pragmatic, high‑leverage internal product function that turns ambiguous problems into useful systems.
• Reusable patterns, technical documentation, and operating playbooks enable other teams to build on this work without unnecessary complexity.

• 7–10 years building and operating production web applications.
• Hands‑on expertise with modern Type Script, React, Next.js (or equivalent), state management, testing, performance, and accessibility best practices.
• Back‑end experience with Node.js and Type Script, API design, eventing or queues, and serverless or containerized services, with observability practices.
• Experience with Contentful or similar API‑first CMS and composable content platforms.
• Ability to translate ambiguous requirements into clear technical designs and scalable implementations.
• Experience designing web application architectures, data flows, and integration points across multiple systems.
• Experience establishing lightweight engineering practices for small teams.
• Mentorship and technical leadership that raises code quality, design rigor, and documentation.
• Clear written and verbal communication with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders and a bias for action.

• Practical experience with AI and LLM‑based workflows.
• Experience with component‑based front‑end architectures and design systems.
• Familiarity with web crawling and scraping approaches.
• Experience building internal tools, dashboards, or workflow systems for customer‑facing, revenue, or operations teams.
