Description of JobWhat you’ll be doing:
As an experienced back‑end web developer, you will use an Agile, iterative approach to unify, align, and maximize the entire CDEC web presence. Responsibilities include applying the United States Web Design System (USWDS) principles, managing servers, domain hosting, databases, and APIs, and leading the agency’s website unification project.
MajorJob Duties
- Keep the CDEC digital services operating and available to end users at all times.
- Maintain the overall health of the digital portfolio ensuring a navigable, engaging front‑end through monitoring UI/UX metrics.
- Identify and debug site performance issues.
- Develop and maintain server‑side code to handle expected traffic and requests.
- Design and maintain databases with the BITS Technology & Security team, ensuring data integrity and security.
- Manage Google Translate API to support language equity goals.
- Build and maintain APIs that connect assets, applications, and sites.
- Ensure web operations comply with BITS infrastructure and perform process analysis and documentation.
- Work with the Website Product Owner to address the CDEC website backlog and utilize user stories or personas.
- Promote user‑centricity, participate in Agile ceremonies, and foster design improvements.
- Collaborate with the Product team and Front‑end Web Developer for release notes and alignment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Four (4) years of full‑time professional experience in web‑based roles such as webmaster, web engineer, or web developer, including diverse end‑user experience.
- At least two (2) years with enterprise‑level CMS, SaaS, HCM, LMS, or CRM platforms.
- At least one (1) year designing and managing lightweight, rational, and sustainable website architecture.
- At least one (1) year managing and delivering cloud platform solutions with integrations such as SSO and APIs.
- Or, a bachelor's degree in business, software, or technology plus the same experience requirements.
- Experience working with Technology Operations, Service, Development, and Product teams.
- Demonstrated experience in website unification and standardization efforts.
- Experience implementing mobile‑forward, green digital design principles.
- Experience modernizing digital portfolios using AI for optimization.
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Certifications in cloud platforms (GCP/AWS/Azure/Salesforce) are desirable.
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and web platforms such as Salesforce, Drupal, or Word Press.
- Experience with Agile ceremonies and rapid prototyping.
- Expertise in ADA and WCAG 2.1 A/AA guidelines.
