We are looking for a senior, curious, and hands‑on Software Engineer (L4) to join our Innovation team. You will lead the design and development of Proof‑of‑Concepts (PoCs) and take features all the way through the full software development lifecycle from architecture and coding to test coverage and production deployment. You will work alongside the Innovation SDM to drive technical direction, mentor junior engineers and fellowship students, and validate new ideas including AI‑assisted solutions.
The ideal candidate is self‑driven, technically opinionated, comfortable defining structure in ambiguous environments, and eager to push the boundaries of emerging technologies while maintaining production‑quality engineering standards.
- Lead the design and development of PoC solutions and innovation experiments.
- Write clean, maintainable code following established coding standards and design patterns.
- Work alongside the Innovation SDM to drive technical direction.
- Contribute to full SDLC activities: design, implementation, unit/integration testing, and deployment.
- Integrate AI services, APIs, and third‑party tools into application workflows.
- Write documentation and automated tests for code delivered.
- Mentor junior engineers and fellowship students.
- Debug and resolve issues across application code and integrations.
- Collaborate with teammates to turn ideas into working prototypes.
- Validate new ideas including AI‑assisted solutions.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
- May assume other duties as assigned.
- Proven ability to lead the design and development of complex systems end to end.
- Proficiency in one or more languages:
Python, JavaScript/Type Script, Java, Go, or similar. - Experience building and consuming REST APIs and integrating third‑party services.
- Strong understanding of system design fundamentals and software development best practices.
- Experience working with data (SQL, APIs, data transformation).
- Ability to independently build prototypes and iterate quickly.
- Basic scripting skills in Shell, Python, or Ruby.
- Strong familiarity with Agile development practices, code management, and CI/CD.
- Hands‑on experience with AI/LLM APIs and prompt engineering techniques.
- Familiarity with LLM platforms and tooling (agents, function/tool calling, orchestration frameworks).
- Ability to be on call on a rotating basis for services owned by the team.
- Experience in event‑driven or integration‑heavy systems.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS or similar).
- Experience with AI application platforms and orchestration frameworks, such as AWS Bedrock, Lang Chain, Lang Graph, or similar tools.
- Experience building voice AI solutions, real‑time audio streaming capabilities, or Web Socket‑based architectures.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor junior engineers or guide small technical teams.
- Ability to drive technical alignment across multiple engineering teams.
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work comfortably in ambiguous, exploratory environments.
