Help Validate the Software That Will Power the Next Generation of Space Exploration
We're looking for a Simulation Test Engineer to join an innovative aerospace team developing advanced robotic and autonomous space systems.
This role sits at the heart of software verification and validation, ensuring complex simulation environments accurately represent real-world system behaviour. You'll work closely with software, systems, hardware, and test engineers to build robust testing frameworks, validate mission-critical software, and improve the reliability of cutting-edge aerospace technology.
If you're passionate about testing, automation, simulation, and solving complex engineering problems, this is an opportunity to make a real impact.
What You'll Be Doing- Design and implement software test strategies for high-fidelity simulation environments
- Develop test plans, procedures, and verification documentation
- Build and maintain simulation, Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL), and Continuous Integration (CI) test environments
- Work closely with software, systems, and hardware engineers to ensure complete requirements traceability and test coverage
- Support fault injection, resilience testing, and risk assessments
- Develop and improve automated testing frameworks and tooling
- Generate and maintain Verification & Validation (V&V) matrices
- Coordinate testing activities across multiple engineering teams
- Support software certification activities and customer-facing test reviews
- Promote a culture of quality, automation, and continuous improvement
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline
- 0–3 years of experience in software testing, simulation, or verification
- Experience testing simulation software, robotics, aerospace systems, or other safety‑critical applications
- Familiarity with software verification and validation methodologies
- Experience with automated testing tools, scripting, or test frameworks
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle and systems engineering principles
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Self‑motivated with the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced engineering environment
- Experience with robotics, autonomous systems, spacecraft avionics, or embedded software
- Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL), Software-in-the-Loop (SIL), or simulation testbed experience
- CI/CD pipeline and configuration management experience
- Exposure to cloud‑based testing environments
- Familiarity with NASA Core Flight System (cFS) or Vx Works
- Understanding of space mission development and verification processes
This is an opportunity to work on highly advanced aerospace systems alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams developing the future of autonomous space technology. You'll have ownership of test strategy, influence software quality from day one, and play a key role in ensuring mission‑critical systems perform reliably before they ever leave the ground.
Benefits- Competitive salary based on experience
- Medical, dental, and vision coverage
- 401(k) with employer matching
- Generous paid time off and company holidays
- Parental leave
- Professional development and educational reimbursement
- Opportunity to work on cutting‑edge aerospace technology in a collaborative, fast‑paced engineering environment
