AWS established a specialized group of service teams responsible for the work we are doing with the U.S. Intelligence Community. We are building some of the largest and most complex distributed systems in the world, and we need adaptable people to help us implement and operate them.
The AWS RAPP (Route 53 and Perimeter Protection) ADC team seeks highly motivated engineers who are focused on operational excellence, troubleshooting complex system operations, and have a good understanding of Linux, networking, and general knowledge of cloud services. We also look for engineers who can use their software knowledge to automate the way we manage and scale our services, and who can think big to simplify complex problems while ensuring customers continue to have the best possible experience.
Key Job Responsibilities- Ensure Route 53 and Perimeter Protection services offer customers a 100% uptime SLA.
- Deploy software, troubleshoot failures, and minimize human involvement through automation such as infrastructure‑as‑code and operator tools.
- Take a defined project, break it down into milestones, and establish feedback mechanisms.
- Identify when implementations lack high availability or have defects, investigate systemic patterns, and resolve, mitigate, or escape operational concerns in a timely manner.
A day in the life:
You manage and monitor systems in air‑gapped regions and build software‑based solutions to improve how we manage and monitor these systems.
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, Power Shell, or Ruby.
- 2+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience.
- 1+ year of designing or architecting new and existing systems (including design patterns, reliability, and scaling).
- Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems).
- Current, active U.S. Government security clearance of TS/SCI with polygraph.
- Experience on highly concurrent, high‑throughput systems and knowledge of complex distributed systems.
The salary range for this position is $99,100.00 – $ annually. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments, restricted stock units (RSUs), and additional compensation determined by experience, qualifications, and location.
