We’re looking for a Systems Development Engineer II to simplify solutions to complex problems for Amazon’s Analytics services (EMR, Athena, Redshift) while operating in air‑gapped Gov Cloud environments. The role requires expertise in Linux, networking, systems design, automation, and strong software development skills.
Key Responsibilities- Build, operate, and improve AWS Agentic AI services that enable customers to optimize their data.
- Drive the resolution of technical issues, enhancing the customer experience.
- Lead cross‑functional discussions, foster constructive dialogue, and resolve contentious issues.
- Design and deploy solutions across ADC partitions and regions, aiming to work at massive scale.
- Apply software development methodologies in Java or Python to build tools and solve complex system problems.
- Use systems design principles, automation, and process improvement to streamline operations.
- Support security campaigns (blocked software, host patching) and parity programs.
- Contribute to ticket resolution and infrastructure improvements, promoting operational excellence.
- Demonstrate leadership with bias for action, invent & simplify, insist on highest standards, and deliver results.
Position requires an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph. Candidates must opt into a commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work.
Basic Qualifications- 2+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience.
- Bachelor’s degree, or CSSLP (Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional).
- 1+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) new and existing systems.
- 2+ years of administrative experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems, and hands‑on systems engineering.
- Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and build processes.
- Experience working in an Agile environment using the Scrum methodology.
- Experience with Power Shell (preferred), Python, Ruby, or Java.
- 5+ years of administrative experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems, and hands‑on systems engineering.

SalaryBase salary range: 99,100.00 – USD annually.
