Position: Software Developer (Broadcast)

The Role:

We have experienced exciting growth over the last few years, with our team growing to support an extensive client list working across some of the most exciting broadcast productions. We have a multitude of highly skilled individuals across our creative, technical, and operational departments and we have a need to expand our Software Development team in our Denver, CO office to continue to deliver exceptional quality that our clients have become accustomed to.

As part of our team of broadcast software developers, you will be part of the “brain” that helps sports graphics operate smoothly & efficiently. Our primary application is a modular approach to a highly‑dependable and scalable data integration and graphics control. Secondary applications and use cases are being constantly created and used to make live broadcasts around the world operate. Our Software team is responsible for developing, deploying, and the ongoing maintenance within broadcast environments.

Not confined to under‑the‑hood software that goes unseen, your work will be used almost immediately by Girraphic colleagues, freelancers, and clients to help deliver cutting edge graphics during high‑profile live sports events with record‑setting viewership. You’re a highly flexible individual, ready to take on any challenge. You are comfortable working within a collaborative environment and have an eye for clean, responsive, and operator‑friendly UI design.

You also possess a proactive approach to testing, with comfortability writing unit tests and conducting thorough testing to ensure reliability in a live broadcast environment that has no room for error.

This role is full‑time
, based onsite in our Denver, CO office. At times, non‑traditional hours and travel (domestic, and international) may be required depending on clients needs, and the unique nature of producing content for live sports and special events.

The salary range for this position is $65,000 - $75,000.

What you will do:
  • Build, change or support scripting that helps live operation of our modules
  • Build, expand, modify, maintain, and test new modules, components, and applications to be used by our team & clients in our ever‑growing list of sports we build graphics for
  • Ensure our code (React/Typescrpt/C#) is future proof, clean, efficient, scalable and reliable to provide each production we support as much code independence as possible
  • Design, create, and troubleshoot existing Vue3 pages as part of an operator template control system (Vizrt Pilot Edge)
  • Consume external live data feeds, wrangle third‑party APIs, crunch static data, and provide data analysis that some of our sports require to support live production and detect losses
  • Participate in team alignment around the vision behind our software’s growth and the future needs in the industry that it supports
  • Guide and coach operators in the use of new functionalities and options that are constantly being added to the application to make their job easier and more streamlined
  • Support production and intervene in case code changes are required during live operation. Extreme attention to detail is required to create adaptable changes to the code in pressure moments
  • Work with our talented graphic artists to find the best approach to creating the application interface or components that are required for each module
  • Be ready to learn and show initiative in support of live broadcast, as well as learn new skills in the industry that are required across our projects
Who you are:
  • Hands‑on experience with Vue 3 and the Composition API
  • Previous contact with object‑oriented programming, C++/C#
  • Familiarity with Vite, Type Script
  • Previous experience working with REST API integration, Websockets, SignalR, MQ, Pub Sub
  • Working knowledge of Relational & No

    SQL databases – SQL, Redis, Mongo, etc.
  • Creating/Exposing REST APIs for external systems
  • Experience with Python, proven ability to quickly build simple scripts.
  • Awareness of Unreal Engine and/or Unity (previous working experience, strongly preferable)
