Sr.QA Automation Engineer Job Denver area,Colorado USA,Software Development

We are looking for a highly skilled and proactive Senior QA Automation Engineer to join our growing QA team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in automation testing, CI/CD integration, AI-assisted development tools, and test management platforms. This role requires hands-on expertise in building scalable automation frameworks, integrating automated testing pipelines, and collaborating closely with development, Dev Ops, and product teams to ensure high-quality software delivery.

The candidate should be passionate about modern QA practices, test optimization, and leveraging AI-powered tools to improve productivity and software quality.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks for web applications and APIs
Create and execute automated test scripts using Playwright and other modern automation tools
Perform functional, regression, smoke, integration, and end-to-end testing
Integrate automated test suites within CI/CD pipelines using Git Lab CI/CD
Collaborate with Dev Ops teams to ensure smooth deployment validation and release quality
Utilize AI-powered tools such as Amazon Q and Kiro to improve testing efficiency, debugging, and development workflows
Work closely with product owners, developers, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and testing needs
Manage and track test cases, defects, and QA processes using Jira and Qmetry
Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and Agile ceremonies
Perform API testing using tools like Postman, REST Assured, or similar platforms
Conduct cross-browser and cross-platform testing
Analyze test results, troubleshoot issues, and provide detailed defect reports
Mentor junior QA engineers and contribute to QA best practices and process improvements
Ensure automation coverage and maintain high-quality standards across projects

Required Skills & Experience

5+ years of experience in QA Automation Engineering
Strong hands-on experience with Playwright automation framework
Experience with JavaScript/Type Script or Java-based automation frameworks
Strong knowledge of Git Lab CI/CD pipeline integration and automation execution
Experience working with Jira and Qmetry for test management and defect tracking
Familiarity with AI-assisted engineering tools such as Amazon Q and Kiro
Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, and Agile/Scrum methodologies
Experience with API automation and testing tools
Knowledge of version control systems such as Git
Experience with database validation and SQL queries
Understanding of performance testing concepts is a plus
Excellent debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Strong communication and collaboration abilities

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Selenium, Cypress, or other automation tools
Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, or containerized testing environments
Experience with performance testing tools like JMeter or Load Runner
ISTQB or relevant QA certifications are a plus
