There will be a strong focus on developing an automated testing strategy.
You will work closely with software engineers, product owners, mission users, Dev Sec Ops , and program leadership to ensure high-quality releases that meet operational needs. This position combines hands-on test leadership with direct people management and offers the opportunity to shape quality practices, mentor team members, and improve delivery outcomes across the program. Responsibilities:
* Lead test planning, coordination, and execution for GEOINT Tradecraft Suite capabilities across multiple releases and development increments.
* Define and maintain test strategy, test plans, test cases, test data needs, and traceability to requirements and acceptance criteria.
* Oversee functional, integration, system, regression, and user acceptance testing activities.
* Partner with engineering and product teams to identify quality risks early and drive defect prevention throughout the software development lifecycle.
* Support Agile ceremonies and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure test readiness and release quality.
* Track defects to closure, verify fixes, and communicate quality status, risks, and release readiness to program leadership.
* Identify opportunities to improve test efficiency through automation, tooling, metrics, and process refinement.
* Serve as the functional manager for a team of 3 testers, including workload planning, performance management, mentoring, career development, and day-to-day support.
* Foster a collaborative, accountable, and mission-focused team culture aligned with program and company objectives.
* Help recruit, onboard, and develop test talent as program needs evolve.
* Support customer demonstrations, readiness events, and operational validation activities as needed.
Qualifications:
Required:
* Hold an active TS/SCI clearance; a polygraph is preferred.
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
* 7+ years of experience in software testing, quality assurance, or test engineering for complex software systems.
* Two or more years of experience leading test teams, test efforts, or cross-functional quality activities.
* Experience building and executing test plans for web-based, service-based, or enterprise software systems.
* Experience working in Agile software development environments.
* Strong understanding of defect lifecycle management, test documentation, release readiness, and quality metrics.
* Experience collaborating effectively with developers, product owners, systems engineers, and program leadership.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present quality status and risks clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
* Ability to balance hands-on testing leadership with team management responsibilities in a fast-paced mission environment. Desired:
* Experience supporting GEOINT, ISR, intelligence analysis, or other mission systems in the national security domain.
* Experience with automated test frameworks and CI/CD-integrated testing practices.
* Experience testing microservices, APIs, containerized applications, and cloud-hosted or hybrid environments.
* Familiarity with Dev Sec Ops pipelines and modern software delivery practices.
* Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Git Lab, Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Postman, or similar testing and collaboration platforms.
* Experience supporting formal verification, accreditation, or operational test events.
* Prior experience mentoring junior testers or building small high-performing QA teams.
