About the roleDrives heavy duty truck and operates specialized motorized asphalt tack equipment. Ensures the safe and timely delivery of prep product to the customer at the proper temperature and to the proper job site. Returns to assigned plant in a timely manner for additional loads.
What You'll Accomplish- Drives a heavy truck (asphalt "tack" truck). Operates specialized motorized equipment (asphalt "tack" truck, asphalt road patcher).
- Inspects mechanical condition of vehicle and reports malfunctions to Dispatch and or supervisor; performs preventive maintenance and makes repairs and adjustments as appropriate.
- Checks oil, water, gas, tires, etc.; may schedule periodic maintenance on vehicle; maintains written records relating to vehicle and equipment maintenance on vehicles.
- Works as a member of the vehicle's crew as assigned or required.
- Transports crews and/or materials.
- Loads and unloads equipment and materials as requested or required.
- Ensures that safety procedures are observed.
- May be required to direct assigned work crew.
- May be required to direct traffic at work site.
- May tow or operate specialized equipment.
- May work other shifts, weekends and holidays.
- Strive for superior safety and require efficient operations of the truck through pre and post trip inspections, and compliance with company operational policies, procedures, and standards, as well as state and local driving rules and regulations.
- Must possess a valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). Must pass DOT drug screen and obtain and retain a DOT physical card.
- Minimum of one year of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read, write and speak English.
- Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations.
- Excellent driving skills.
- Previous Asphalt Truck driving experience preferred.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit test.
