The Operations Supervisor monitors all operations including process shipments, prepare paperwork, communicate freight status, and dispatch drivers for pickup. The supervisor serves as the primary interface between Pilot Freight Services, customers, sales, system operations, and vendors, providing quality customer service while meeting company policies and procedures.
Essential Functions- Responsible for ongoing process analysis of operational systems, procedures, and staffing to drive continuous improvement in operating efficiencies.
- Assist District Manager with general tasks.
- Ensure safe operations and compliance with all OSHA regulations, applicable laws, and Pilot’s Corporate Policies.
- Effectively train, supervise, coach, and evaluate all direct reports to foster good communication and morale.
- Review operational key performance measures monthly and benchmark data to drive improvement strategies.
- Communicate freight status and any problems to customers, vendors, and other Pilot stations and personnel.
- Handle freight via forklift and build trucks for optimal routing.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Customer service background preferred.
- Ability to read key elements of financial statements in support of functional role responsibilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Knowledge of systems utilized as it relates to logistics.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Pay Range: $67k-$70k per year. The above stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary range for the position. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors such as location. The Company will work directly with the selected candidate(s) on the final starting salary in accordance with all applicable laws.
