Overview
Position Overview - Warehouse And Driver Non CDL. As a Warehouse and Driver Technician your time is split as a Non CDL driver and warehouse associate. As a warehouse technician responsibilities include shipping/receiving orders, quality control, inventory control and other warehouse related logistics. As a Non CDL driver, responsibilities include ensuring timely delivery of goods to customer sites as needed or as a part of a pre-defined route, reviewing orders prior to delivery to verify accuracy, and loading and unloading goods.
Driving, delivering, and pick-up using Encore owned, leased, or rented trucks with a gross vehicle weight of less than 26,001 lbs. Responsible for obtaining and maintaining a medium-duty DOT certification as required by state law (non-CDL). The Warehouse and Driver Technician will report to the Supervisor, Warehouse Operations or the Manager, Warehouse Operations.
- Inbound/Outbound Order Processing:
Accurately receive, ship and label product, pick-up product from inventoried locations and pack orders efficiently and accurately for delivery to venues and/or other warehouses - Perform basic quality control (QC) procedures, presentation of equipment and inventory control
- Driving, Delivery, and Pick-up:
Drive Encore owned, leased, or rented vehicles including vans and box trucks with a gross vehicle weight of less than 26,001 lbs. - Maintain set routes and schedules as directed by their supervisor to meet customer expectations
- Loading and unloading of vehicles
- Review orders for accuracy during both delivery and pickup to ensure all items are accounted for
- Ensure contents are properly secured inside of truck to prevent breakage or damage to gear
- Obey all applicable traffic laws and drive according to the weather/road conditions
- Able to complete a manual and/or electronic logbook, based on assigned region
- Logistics and Transportation:
Prepare and process shipments to ship small parcel, LTL and via internal fleet - Operate industrial powered forklifts including (i.e., Sit-down, reach, stock picker, and powered pallet jack)
- Ensure timely and safe delivery of products to the designated locations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Safety:
Perform daily checklists on forklifts and other equipment within the warehouse - Participate in safety team initiatives
- Adhere to all safety protocols and transportation regulations while operating vehicles.
- Warehouse Housekeeping:
Clean and maintain a safe work area - Maintain equipment as necessary
- Customer Service:
Ensure the highest standards of service while maintaining operation efficiency and a cohesive relationship with other departments - Maintain a working knowledge of equipment
- High School diploma/GED
- 1 to 3 years’ experience in warehouse environment
- Drive trucks with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) under 26,001 lbs.
- Clean driving record and valid Driver’s license with minimum of 2 years driving experience.
- General knowledge of vehicle inspection and maintenance
- Proficient using GPS and other routing systems
- Ability to drive or sit for long hours at a time
- Ability to lift over 50 lbs. independently
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Strong communication skills with other team members, site leadership team and internal and external customers
- Organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to multi-task while working in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer skills with an emphasis on Microsoft Office
- Experience using an RF based WMS system (preferred)
- Experience operating industrial forklift equipment
- Experience with DOT regulations and telematics electronic ELD logs (preferred)
