Warehouse drivers work as part of the warehouse operations team, picking up and delivering material from one location to another, usually to/from suppliers, clients, or other warehouses. This job involves loading vans and updating records and paperwork. This job is well-suited to highly organized people who have experience working with others, enjoy communicating with people, and have the strength and physical fitness to lift heavy items in and out of delivery trucks when needed.
Key Responsibilities- Warehouse drivers load and unload delivery trucks
- Record receipt of materials
- Record pick up / delivery of material
- Verify materials received match the packing slip and the purchase order product, quantities, colors, etc.
- Inspect all material for damage upon receipt
- Prepare orders for delivery to jobsites
- Keep up-to-date inventory of delivery records to make sure the right items are dispatched to the correct clients
- Participate in physical inventory to verify stock and identify losses
- Clean warehouse to maintain a safe and efficient work area
- Communicate regularly with the warehouse manager, installers, or suppliers to ensure pickup/delivery time frames; notify of hold-ups or traffic incidents ahead of time
- Relay any issues with a delivery or problems with the vehicle or equipment to senior staff, and report any road incidents to a supervisor
- Ensure delivery vehicle and associated equipment remain clean, tidy, and in good working order
- Follow safe lifting practices and help colleagues lift extremely heavy items to avoid injuries
- Handle paperwork associated with deliveries, from receipts to confirmation notices
- Organization skills – strong organization allows warehouse drivers to complete a number of deliveries in one day and keep inventories and records up to date
- Attention to detail – verify correct items are delivered to the right place and paperwork is filled out accurately
- Time management – prioritize tasks and manage time to ensure all deliveries are completed on time
- Adherence to safety – maintain safe working habits when lifting heavy items or equipment, and adhere to road safety rules and regulations
- Communication skills – strong, professional communication with clients, suppliers, and team members
The warehouse drivers work a full-time schedule and may work additional hours as well. Weekend and holiday hours may be required s position often requires early starts and late finishes, depending on the delivery destinations' locations and jobsite hours.
Education & Training- Clean driver’s license and follow safe driving practices at all times
- Forklift certified – CFS will train and provide certification
Rate of Pay $18.00-$20.00 per hour plus benefits.
