The Warehouse Lead supervises and coordinates all outgoing shipments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Studies shipping notices, bills of lading, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments and shipping methods required to meet shipping schedules.
- Oversees outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness and condition of shipments.
- Determines space requirements and position of shipment in boxcars and trucks and lays out position of shipment.
- Determines routing and legal load limits of trucks, according to established schedules and weight limits of states.
- Inspects loading operations to ensure compliance with shipping specifications.
- Enters shipment transactions into computer.
- Issues written and oral instructions.
- Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates.
- Adjusts errors and complaints.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Availability for daily/weekly overtime.
- Cross-train in other positions within the facility based on business needs.
- Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications- 5 years of warehouse experience. 2 years of leadership/supervisor experience.
- Ability to operate a forklift machine.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good communication skills for dealing with internal and external partners.
- Proven experience as order picker or another warehouse position.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in computer systems including Microsoft Suite.
- Knowledge of inventory management systems (barcode, AS400 program).
- Knowledge of Transportation Management Systems.
- Excellent organization and efficient time management skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to office, warehouse, and plant environments. The work environment will require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in certain areas. Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
