ResponsibilitiesCrew Leaders perform daily distribution yard activities for a facility. They perform distribution-related functions such as receiving, storing, and shipping/building of loads, operate forklifts, ensure loads match orders prior to vehicles exiting the yard, perform customer service activities, and maintain good housekeeping in the work area. Incumbents have broad knowledge of building material products and warehouse operations, possess alertness and ability to adapt to warehouse routines, understand and apply fundamental mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division), follow safety programs and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, and demonstrate strong commitment to safety, quality, environmental awareness, and continuous process improvement.
They perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
HS Diploma, GED, or two (2) years of equivalent work experience. Must be able to understand and communicate safety and other work-related instructions, work in a warehouse/yard environment with considerable physical exertion, and perform duties in all weather conditions.
Preferred QualificationsTypically more than five (5) years of experience in a related job function. The role may require technical certification or an associate’s degree. Candidates should possess an in-depth knowledge of building materials products, warehouse operations, and/or BMD products/operations, demonstrate accuracy in checking, posting, counting, addition, subtraction, fractions, and linear measurement, and exhibit good personal interaction and supervisory skills.
