Overview
Rockaway River Country is a private, 18-hole facility founded in 1915 and designed by Devereux Emmett.
The Membership are golf enthusiast who have great respect for the game of golf, its traditions, history and protocols.
Besides a spectacular Emmett design course there is a full practice range and short game area along with a new 2-bay Learning Center. The Learning Center has 2 Trackman Launch monitors and Swing Catalyst. The doors to the Learning Center can open and players hit into the range or close the doors in inclement weather and hit into the screens.
The Assistant Professional will learn all aspects of how to run a successful Golf Operation with the ultimate goal of taking these skills and becoming a Head Golf Professional. The position will assist with the management of daily golf operations including management and tracking daily play, assisting with all merchandising functions, assisting in managing member tournaments, teaching and playing golf with the membership, supervising golf staff and providing other professional services to ensure an exceptional golf experience.

Experience Required- Enrolled with PGA, with the goal of membership into the PGA of America
- Experience working at a Private Club
- Complete the requirements of PGA Membership and or maintain an active classification in the PGA of America.
- Supervise and manage the total golf operation in a professional and efficient manner in the absence of the Head Golf Professional.
- Provide excellent customer service, professional advice and assistance to all members and their guests.
- Supervise, schedule and train golf shop staff as directed by the Head Professional.
- Above average player, that will represent the Club in Local, Regional and National Club Professional events.
- Assist in purchasing, receipt, display, inventory, control, promotion and sales of merchandise.
- Provide golf instruction and clinics as directed by the Head Professional that is consistent with instructional methods, policies and procedures.
- Be informed on, and promote all club activities and services.
- Manage the handicap program.
- Assist in managing member tournaments and outside outings.
- Promote and support the programs and services of the Head Golf Professional and demonstrate loyalty to these programs at all times.
- Conduct oneself in a professional manner and maintain a professional image at all times.
- Performs other duties as requested by Head Golf Professional as they relate to member services.
