Quality Data Specialist

Department: Griffin Faculty Physicians - Primary Care
Reports To: Manager of Analytics and Performance

Position Summary

The Quality Data Specialist supports GFP's quality, population health, and value-based care initiatives by assisting with quality gap closure, data validation, payer reporting, and patient outreach activities. Working closely with the Senior Quality Data Specialist, Population Health Team, and practice leadership, this role helps ensure accurate quality reporting and supports workflows that improve patient outcomes and organizational performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Support quality metric performance and value-based care initiatives across outpatient practices.
• Work with MSSP, Medicare Advantage, and other payer programs to submit documentation and support quality gap closure efforts.
• Assist with identifying and resolving documentation and data discrepancies that impact quality measure performance.
• Collaborate with Griffin's Population Health Team on annual quality reporting requirements, including GPRO audits.
• Partner with the Nurse Quality Manager and practice leaders to improve workflows related to quality gap closure and patient outreach.
• Generate patient lists and assist with outreach campaigns to improve preventive care and quality measure compliance.
• Perform chart reviews and data validation activities to ensure reporting accuracy.
• Participate in staff and provider orientation sessions related to quality metrics and incentive programs.
• Educate staff on quality-related workflows, documentation requirements, and best practices.
• Attend meetings with Griffin Quality, Value Care Alliance, and payer partners as needed.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within interdisciplinary teams.
• Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Knowledge of electronic health records and healthcare quality programs preferred.
• Experience with Athena, HEDIS, MSSP, Medicare Advantage, or population health initiatives preferred.

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Health Sciences, Healthcare Administration, Biology, or related field preferred.
• 2-5 years of healthcare, quality, population health, or clinical experience preferred.
• Previous clinical certification or healthcare experience preferred.

Position Progression

The Quality Data Specialist serves as a foundational role within GFP's Quality and Analytics structure, supporting operational and quality initiatives while developing the skills necessary to progress into the Senior Quality Data Specialist position. The Senior role assumes additional responsibility for analytics support, report generation, staff education, data integrity oversight, and coordination of organization-wide reporting and quality improvement initiatives.
