Job Summary

The Dental Assistant provides chairside support to the dentist during a variety of procedures, including denture fabrication, dental implants, oral surgery, extractions, impressions, and restorative treatment
. This role is responsible for delivering exceptional patient care while maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient clinical environment.

Responsibilities

Prepare treatment rooms before patients arrive.

Welcome and escort patients throughout their visit.

Provide exceptional customer service and patient care.

Educate patients on treatment options, denture styles, implant procedures, aftercare instructions, and financial packages.

Review and accurately document patient records, treatment plans, and clinical notes.

Assist the dentist during chairside procedures.

Take preliminary and final dental impressions.

Prepare wax bites as directed by the dentist.

Assist with denture fittings, adjustments, relines, and insertions within state regulations.

Assist during oral surgery, extractions, and dental implant procedures.

Take digital dental X-rays in accordance with state requirements.

Sterilize instruments and maintain infection control standards.

Clean and disinfect operatories after each patient.

Maintain inventory of dental supplies and notify management when supplies need replenishment.

Complete daily office cleaning and organization tasks.

Assist with additional clinical and administrative duties as assigned.

Participate in training and continuing education opportunities.

Qualifications Required

Active Dental Assistant certification (if required by state)

Active Dental X-Ray Certification (where required)

High school diploma or GED

At least one year of Dental Assistant experience

Strong communication and patient care skills

Ability to multitask in a fast-paced dental office

Preferred

Experience assisting with dentures

Experience with dental implants

Oral surgery assisting experience

Knowledge of removable prosthetics

Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) experience, where applicable

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, sit, bend, twist, and reach throughout the workday

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally

Comfortable working in a clinical dental environment

Ability to follow OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control guidelines
