Job DescriptionPurpose:
The Classroom Instructor creates a positive learning environment to facilitate the personal, social, and intellectual development of students, working closely with staff and administration of Derby Public Schools.
Responsible to:
Principal and/or Program Director.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university.
- Current Kansas State Teaching License on file in the Central Office.
- Desire to continue career improvement.
- Use planning and preparation time effectively.
- Promote a positive classroom environment.
- Provide quality instruction.
- Demonstrate appropriate professional responsibilities.
- React to change productively and handle other tasks as assigned.
- Support the value of an education.
- Support the philosophy and mission of Derby Public Schools.
- Comply with all district policies, rules and regulations.
- Ability to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods.
- Occasionally required to manually move, lift, carry, pull or push heavy objects or materials.
- Occasionally required to stoop, bend and reach.
- Must be able to work indoors and outdoors year-round.
- Must be able to work in noisy and crowded environments.
- Requires regular attendance and/or physical presence at the job.
