Classroom Teacher, Job . All job descriptions are posted on our Job Description Index. Salary is based on experience and education: $50,003 - $85,354. ESOL Endorsement RequirementsElementary classroom teachers, as well as middle and high school language arts teachers, are required to obtain an ESOL endorsement by the end of their third year with the district. Requirements for obtaining the endorsement are determined by the Kansas State Department of Education and may include coursework and/or passing the appropriate exam. To support this process, the district provides access to a Canvas course designed to help teachers prepare for the exam.
The district will reimburse the cost of the exam once the ESOL endorsement has been completed and officially added to the teacher's license.
The Classroom Instructor creates a positive learning environment to facilitate the personal, social, and intellectual development of students. In order to respond to the individual needs and abilities of students, the Classroom Instructor must work closely with other staff and the administration of Derby Public Schools.
