Position: INTERRELATED HIGH-INCIDENCE SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER

Special Education Teacher – Cooper Elementary (2026‑2027)

Location:

Cooper Elementary.

Salary: $50,003 – $85,354 (based on experience and education).

Contract:

184.5 days. Uncategorised PTO, paid parental leave. Salary placement accepted.

Job Description

The Classroom Instructor creates a positive learning environment to facilitate the personal, social, and intellectual development of students. The instructor works closely with other staff and the administration of Derby Public Schools.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university.
  • Current Kansas State Teaching License on file in the Central Office.
  • Desire to continue career improvement.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods.
  • Occasional need to manually move, lift, carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materials.
  • Occasional need to stoop, bend and reach.
  • Must be able to work indoors and outdoors year-round.
  • Must be able to work in noisy and crowded environments.
  • Requires regular attendance and/or physical presence at the job.
