High School Teacher

Derby High School is seeking an ON-SITE Virtual Language Arts Teacher for the  school year. Employee benefits include uncategorized PTO, paid parental leave and we accept PDC for salary placement. Interested applicants will need to complete an online application through Frontline. This is an on site position at the Panther Learning Center. This position will support virtual and in person learners.

Special Education Certification Preferred Position open until filled. ESOL Endorsement Requirements:
Elementary classroom teachers, as well as middle and high school language arts teachers, are required to obtain an ESOL endorsement by the end of their third year with the district. Requirements for obtaining the endorsement are determined by the Kansas State Department of Education and may include coursework and/or passing the appropriate exam. To support this process, the district provides access to a Canvas course designed to help teachers prepare for the exam.

The district will reimburse the cost of the exam once the ESOL endorsement has been completed and officially added to the teacher's license. Salary is based on experience and education: $50,003 - $85,354 The regular teacher contract is currently 184.5 days. The Panther Learning Center may have a variable schedule of days and times not to exceed the normal contracted defined totals in a given year. Approval for schedules is through the Director of Alternative Learning.
