Substitute Nurse
A substitute nurse in our district must have a current/valid license as a "Registered Nurse" from the Kansas State Board of Nursing. All applications must be submitted through our online application system. Select "Substitute Certified" and under the "Statement" section of the application, please state you are applying to be a substitute nurse. After you have submitted your application you will be contacted by email with instructions, if Derby Public Schools wishes to continue the application process of adding you to our pool of substitute nurses.
An orientation is required prior to substituting.
Rate of pay for all teacher and nurse substitutes:
- Full Day $130
- Half Day $65
- Long Term Substitute Full Day $175*
