Position: Casual Breakfast & After School Club Playworker DE24

Casual Breakfast & After School Club Playworker

Location: Clover Leys Spencer Academy, Boulton Moor, Derby,
DE24 5AX

Start Date: ASAP

Hours: Up to 20 hours per week during term time (with opportunity to work up to 40 hours during holiday clubs)

Operational Hours (Term Time): Monday to Friday – 7.30 – 9.00 & 15.30 – 18.00

Holiday Club

Hours:

8.30 – 17.30 Monday to Friday

Pay: Up to £12.21 per hour (plus holiday pay)

Contract: Casual

Responsibilities
  • Plan and execute structured and exciting activities that encourage maximum participation, such as multi‑sports, games, arts and crafts, structured play, and more, ensuring they are age‑appropriate.
  • Follow all Health and Safety protocols and policies, including signing in and out processes.
  • Provide refreshments for the children.
  • Set up and pack away play spaces, moving furniture and play equipment as needed.
  • Keep all relevant documentation, including accident and incident forms, up to date and completed as needed.
  • Follow proper sign‑in and sign‑out processes for all children in care.
  • Communicate professionally and authentically with team members, parents, children, and schools.
  • Conduct regular maintenance and safety checks for all equipment and kit.
  • Take the lead in championing health and safety, providing first aid where necessary.
  • Keep all information and documents related to the children in your care confidential and secure.
  • Inspire team members and children to have fun, be active, and lead an active lifestyle.
Compliance & Requirements

This role requires compliance with the Keeping Children Safe in Education policy and is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974
.

You must provide two references, one from your most recent employer and the other from a childcare setting (if applicable). We will conduct a DBS check on your behalf, so please prepare the correct documentation. You must meet these requirements to be eligible for the hiring process.
