Electrical Technician / Electrician’s Mate

About the Role

A leading renewable energy business is looking to recruit an Electrical Technician to support the operation and maintenance of utility scale Solar PV sites.

Previous solar experience is not required. The role would suit an Electrician’s Mate, Electrical Improver or Level 2 qualified Electrician looking to build a long term career within renewable energy.

The successful candidate will support planned maintenance, electrical inspections, fault finding and repairs across AC and DC systems.

Requirements

* Level 2 Electrical Installation qualification or equivalent.

* Experience working as an Electrician’s Mate, Electrical Improver or Electrical Technician.

* Industrial, commercial or electrical maintenance experience.

* Good understanding of electrical safety.

* Willingness to work outdoors and travel between regional sites.

* Full UK Driving Licence.

* Currently working towards NVQ Level 3 would be advantageous.

Package

* Salary of £38,000 to £40,000.

* Candidates working towards an NVQ Level 3 will receive £40,000.

* Training and development towards NVQ Level 3.

* Progression into Solar Technician and HV positions.

 * £8 subsistence payment for qualifying days of 5 hours or more.

 * £12 subsistence payment for qualifying days of 10 hours or more.

 * £75 on call payment for Saturday and Sunday.

 * £150 on call payment for Bank Holidays.

* Saturday and Sunday callouts paid at time and a half, door to door.

* Bank Holiday callouts paid at double time, door to door.

* Additional Monday to Friday overtime available
