Shipping Supervisor​/MPC

Canfor is currently looking for a strong leader with proven experience in an industrial setting to join our team as a Shipping Supervisor. As a member of Canfor's Divisional Management Team, the Shipping Supervisor will be responsible for the coordination and timely and accurate shipment of all rail car and truck orders, kiln schedules and quality optimization. You will also be responsible for the supervision, safety, and coordination of forklift operators.

The Mill Production Coordinator portion of this role is responsible for maintaining target inventory levels and ensuring on-time shipments, while overseeing production employees to drive productivity, quality, and operational performance.

• Supervision and coordination of all related production employees and equipment related to shipping
• Determine & meet daily/weekly shipping requirements while achieving target inventories
• Ensure that established safety, quality, cost, delivery, and employee engagement KPI's are met or exceeded on a consistent basis
• Work with all personnel to ensure compliance in safety, environment, company policies.
• Foster a culture of knowledge sharing with other personnel

• Minimum Grade 12 education with preference given to candidates with relevant post-secondary education
• Supervisory experience in the sawmill industry
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications with the ability to learn new programs
• Strong written and oral communications
• Ability to thrive as a management team member in a unionized work environment
• Strong analytical and problem solving abilities with the flexibility to effectively respond to continually changing internal and external business conditions
• Demonstrated safe work behaviour
• Analytical thinker
• Easily adapt to new situations
• Can build cooperative and trusting working relationships
• Work with limited supervision
• Highly organized, self-motivated, strong attention to detail
• Basic knowledge of mobile equipment would be an asset
