Job Description for Part Time Pastor

Middleton Gospel Chapel is a small rural church in the Lakes Region of NH. Average weekly attendance is around 30. There are several Bible studies throughout the week for women and adults.

• The candidate shall be beyond reproach and generally able to meet all the qualifications defined in Titus 2 and 1 Timothy 3 for overseer or elder.
• He shall be ordained or seeking ordination.
• Academically he shall have earned a bachelor’s degree or higher.
• Be able to ascribe to:

    In regard to the pastor the current bylaws only define a full time pastor. Some requirements will be relaxed for part time work. Available upon request.)
  • The Nicene Creed
• Desire to reach the community of Middleton and surrounding area.

• Preach the Gospel
• Administer ordinances
• Generally preside over services of public worship
• Attend monthly business and deacon meeting

• A parsonage can be provided free of the following expenses: rent, heat, electricity, internet, lawn care, snow removal.
• In addition an expense allowance is provided.

• Sunday morning, one evening mid week, and office hours equivalent of 1 day per week.
• Occasional weddings, or funerals etc.
• Available for special social activities such as suppers, concerts, holy days.
