The State of New Hampshire, Department of Safety, Division of Homeland Security & Emergency Management, Mitigation and Recovery, h as a full-time vacancy for a Hazard Mitigation Program Assistant (Program Assistant II), SOC Title 43-6010 ADMIN ASSTS-4. This position has a 37.5 hour work week and is considered non-exempt. This position is grant funded and is subject to renewal every 2 years.

Summary:

Performs paraprofessional duties for the Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management in the support, development and implementation of the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program, following Major Disaster Declarations in New Hampshire.

YOUR EXPERIENCE COUNTS:
Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and/or each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/

Experience:

Equivalent combination of 3 years of education and experience after completion of high school. Education and experience must be in business administration, clerical, office management, or related field.

License/Certification:

Valid driver’s license or access to transportation

Other Requirements:
  • Must pass a fingerprint based criminal background check and motor vehicle record check in order to ensure suitability for exposure to confidential information.
  • Must be able and willing to occasionally work a flexible schedule to include nights and weekends
Trainee Option:

Candidates with an equivalent combination of 2+ years of relevant education and experience after completion of high school may be considered and hired in ‘trainee status’ for this position.

Responsibilities:

Provides oversight and collection of program data and information and provides administrative support for the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program; including maintaining and releasing program information as necessary. Assists in collecting data and compiling annual, quarterly and monthly reports for FEMA, and others, as requested; compiles and prepares specialized program information for use by superiors, agency staff, or the public, related to the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program.

Assists with the maintenance of the grant documentation included in overseeing grant compliance and collects documentation to ensure timely closeouts of sub-recipient grant awards; provides program guidance and presents information to clarify policies, procedures and standards relevant to the Hazard Mitigation…
