Ken Crest - A Premier Employer
Looking for flexible, meaningful part‑time work that fits into your life? Ken Crest is hiring compassionate people to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their communities. Whether you’re a student, a parent, semi‑retired, or just looking to give a few hours of your week to something purposeful, we offer flexible shifts during the day, afternoon, and early evening—no overnights required.
Some shifts are just a couple hours long; others can be combined into a fuller schedule based on your availability.
In this role, you’ll help people build confidence, learn everyday skills, and access the community around them whether that’s a trip to the grocery store, a visit to the library, or help getting to a job or doctor’s appointment. You’ll use your own car to provide occasional transportation, which is an important part of supporting someone’s independence.
If you have patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in helping others thrive, we’ll provide the training and support you need to succeed. No healthcare or direct care experience is required—just a caring heart and a willingness to learn.
Things You Might Do:- Support individuals as they practice life skills like cooking, laundry, or using public transportation
- Provide transportation in your personal vehicle for community outings, errands, or appointments
- Help individuals build social skills and confidence in group or public settings
- Assist with navigating everyday challenges and celebrating progress
- Encourage independence while offering reliable, compassionate support
- Must be 18 years or older (required)
- Valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle (required)
- Willingness to use your vehicle to transport individuals when needed (required)
- Clean background check, drug screen, and acceptable driving record (per state guidelines)
- Experience working with individuals with autism or intellectual disabilities is a plus, but not required
- Strong interpersonal skills, patience, creativity, and a team‑first attitude
