The Associate Director (AD) provides strategic and operational leadership for key programmatic initiatives within the Child Welfare Education Partnership (CWEP). Reporting to the CWEP Program Director, this role oversees the development, coordination, and statewide delivery of pre-service training, continuing education, and professional development for foster, adoptive, kinship, and residential caregivers in partnership with the Division for Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF).

The AD facilitates the integration of lived experience perspectives into curriculum development, training delivery, and program planning, and collaborates with family leaders, instructors, and community partners to ensure high-quality, relevant learning opportunities aligned with state and national standards. This position currently holds primary oversight of the Family Training program while intentionally strengthening the infrastructure, staffing, and partnerships necessary to support its continued growth and future transition.

As a senior leader, the AD operates with a high degree of autonomy and accountability, contributing to organizational strategy, supervising the Family Training team, and ensuring alignment across CWEP initiatives and external stakeholders. The AD works closely with CWEP departments, DCYF, and community partners to build comprehensive, collaborative professional learning environments that elevate caregiver and family leader capacity and leadership, while advancing system-wide goals.

Through a focus on innovation, quality improvement, and sustainability, the AD plays a central role in strengthening caregiver education and lived experience integration to improve outcomes for children, youth, and families across New Hampshire.

Duties/Responsibilities Program Leadership & Strategic Oversight (40%)
  • Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and innovative team culture.
  • Partner with the Program Director in cultivating CWEP as a learning organization by promoting cross-team reflection, knowledge-sharing, and continuous improvement practices that strengthen organizational capacity and long-term effectiveness.
  • Collaborate closely with other CWEP leaders to ensure alignment, reduce duplication, and coordinate implementation across systems.
  • Recruit, hire, and onboard qualified Family Training staff and adjunct instructors to meet statewide training delivery needs.
  • Participate in the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of CWEP staff generally, as needed.
  • Provide supervision, coaching, and leadership to Family Training staff; manage workload balance, performance reviews, and professional development.
  • Lead planning for the long-term evolution of the Family Training program, including building infrastructure and capacity to support eventual redistribution of operational oversight.
  • Lead and oversee the development, coordination, and statewide delivery of pre-service, in-service, and ongoing professional development for foster, adoptive, kinship, and residential caregivers.
  • Lead and oversee the integration of lived experience into caregiver education, curriculum development, training delivery, and program planning; monitor outcomes and incorporate feedback to inform systems improvements and strategic decision‑making.
  • Oversee training delivery models, scheduling systems, and capacity planning to maximize accessibility, participation, and efficiency.
  • Analyze training needs, contractual requirements, and training demand to set priorities and refine offerings.
