Precision CNC Machining Technician

At Sten Tech in Derry, NH, you'll turn detailed engineering drawings into accurate components as a Precision CNC Machining Technician. If you enjoy problem‑solving at the machine, working with precision tools, and collaborating with engineers and production teammates, this role puts you at the center of our manufacturing process.

A day on our 2nd shift (starts at 2:00 PM)

Kick off your shift by reviewing prints and work instructions, selecting tooling, and dialing in offsets. You’ll run first-article checks with gauges and micrometers, monitor cycle performance, and make fine adjustments to keep parts in spec. When fixtures are needed, you’ll fabricate them from various materials using hand tools and our panel saw. You’ll perform light preventive maintenance, keep your cell clean and organized, and partner with engineers and fellow operators to keep the line moving safely and efficiently.

Before 10:00 PM, you’ll package finished work and prep the area for the next run.

• Set up and operate CNC equipment to produce components to specification and print.
• Calibrate tooling and verify machine readiness for optimal performance.
• Continuously monitor machining operations and adjust as needed to maintain accuracy, quality, and throughput.
• Troubleshoot routine issues and perform basic machine upkeep.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and job travelers.
• Use precision metrology (calipers, micrometers, gauges) and math to confirm dimensions.
• Safely operate hand tools, panel saws, and other shop equipment.
• Fabricate parts and fixtures from multiple material types.
• Package finished goods for storage or shipment.
• Partner with engineers and production team members to optimize workflow.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow safety policies and take on additional tasks as assigned.

Monday – Friday, 2nd Shift - 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM

• One or more of the following:
• Hands‑on experience as a CNC operator or in a related manufacturing role
• Mechanical aptitude and the ability to read prints and technical drawings
• Background in fabricating parts using different materials
• Proficiency with hand tools and production equipment
• Comfort with measurements and machining‑related math
• An equivalent blend of manufacturing experience and technical training
