The PACU provides an excellent setting for post‑operative and post‑procedural care. Here patients can benefit from the latest technology and expert team of professional nurses and physicians who provide personalized case‑specific care. The staff offers preoperative assessment and education, intraoperative support services, operative/procedural care, and post‑operative/post‑procedure care. These services are provided in a safe and caring environment that is tailored to the individual patient.

A PACU RN provides care for patients recovering from anesthesia after surgical procedures. The RN is responsible for monitoring and assessing vital signs, managing pain medications, administering intravenous fluids, and providing emotional support to families. The RN communicates with physicians regarding any changes in patient condition and may provide education about post‑operative care. The RN must work in a fast‑paced environment, monitor multiple patients, and take appropriate actions when needed.

• Ensure patients receive optimal postoperative care through monitoring vital signs and conducting assessments.
• Provide comfort measures to ensure patient comfort as they recover from anesthesia.
• Administer medications, pain relief, and IV fluids as prescribed.
• Educate patients on recovery progress and answer questions.
• Assist with discharge planning to ensure a smooth transition back home.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide the best post‑operative care.
• Document postoperative care in medical records accurately and completely.

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school. Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
• Registered Nurse in New Hampshire or Compact State RN license.
• Ability to obtain BLS qualification during orientation and maintain it throughout employment. ACLS preferred.

Per diem, day shift.
