This position performs preventive and corrective maintenance, responds to equipment breakdowns, and works proactively to identify and prevent recurring equipment issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment.
- Diagnose root causes of equipment failures and complete safe, effective repairs.
- Respond promptly to production equipment breakdowns and communicate equipment status and repair needs.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, inspections, adjustments, lubrication, and component replacement.
- Test equipment following repairs to ensure proper and safe operation.
- Identify recurring equipment issues and recommend reliability improvements.
- Support the installation, relocation, and startup of production equipment.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals, electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Perform basic facility maintenance involving electrical, plumbing, HVAC, compressed air, lighting, and other building systems within appropriate qualifications.
- Coordinate with outside contractors when specialized repairs or services are required.
- Maintain accurate work orders and maintenance records, including repairs completed, parts used, and outstanding concerns.
- Identify replacement parts and critical spare-part requirements.
- Maintain maintenance tools, equipment, storage areas, and work spaces in a clean and organized condition.
- Follow all site safety procedures, including lockout/tagout (LOTO), PPE requirements, and equipment guarding requirements.
- Report safety hazards, equipment concerns, near misses, and other unsafe conditions promptly.
- Work collaboratively with Production, Engineering, Quality, and other departments to minimize equipment downtime.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment reliability, safety, and maintainability.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical school, trade certification, or associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical, Mechanical Technology, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated experience troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Working knowledge of motors, drives, sensors, controls, pumps, compressed-air systems, and other industrial equipment.
- Ability to read electrical schematics, equipment drawings, and technical manuals.
- Knowledge of OSHA requirements and lockout/tagout procedures.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize competing maintenance needs, and recognize when additional technical support is required.
- Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
- Basic computer skills and experience using maintenance work-order or CMMS systems preferred.
- Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, meters, and other maintenance equipment.
- This is a full-time, onsite position in Derry, New Hampshire.
- Ability to regularly stand, walk, bend, reach, climb, and work around manufacturing equipment.
- Ability to lift and move materials and equipment consistent with job requirements.
- Ability to work safely in manufacturing and mechanical environments and wear required PPE.
- Occasional overtime or off-hours support may be required based on operational needs.
