My 3 Limited are recruiting for enthusiastic individuals to support children and young people with Autism and Learning Disabilities in the Ormskirk area. We are seeking a dedicated Team Leader to join our team in providing care and assistance to individuals in need. Job description

As a Children’s home Team Leader, you will work directly with the children and young people, with appropriate support, guidance and under the supervision of the senior leadership team.

Your role is to support young people in their day to day routines which include providing emotional support, promote learning and supporting attendance at education, support with homework, participation in home’s activities and attendance and participation in community-based interests (e.g. attending clubs ), work with young people to develop interests and improve life skills, promote self-sufficiency and build resilience.

You will help to facilitate and support family relationships, where it is appropriate to do so, helping our young people to maintain a support network around them.

You will be expected to be a good role model; embrace rights, encourage healthy lifestyles, to support young people in having all their health needs met, promote wellbeing, help young people develop safe decision making and work in a manner that ensures they are safe.

All staff need to be good communicators, in the written and verbal form, and be IT competent; all staff receive appropriate training to ensure such tasks can be completed to the required standard.

We assess potential My 3 Limited Residential Support Workers against the following criteria:

Staff will work an agreed shift pattern of 2 in, 4 off, including sleep-in. Renumeration is £15.59 per hour.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Team Leaders are expected to undertake all the same duties as outlined within the Residential Support Worker Job Description, in addition to the following:

  • Act as a positive role model within the team, and for young people, to ensure effective and efficient person-centred service delivery for young people.
  • Mentor and support the staff team, including supporting the induction of new staff and the continuing professional development of the team.
  • Have oversight of young people’s plans; ensuring that they are an up-to-date reflection of current needs and support plans.
  • Conduct supervision and appraisal of residential support workers in line with agreed timescales.
  • Consult with young people; ensuring that they are involved in their own plans at a level which is meaningful and relevant to each individual.
  • Contribute to the provision of a safe and nurturing home environment for young people.
  • Have a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Maintain high standards of communication; liaising with families, professionals, and other stakeholders as appropriate.
  • Promote autism awareness and acceptance, and challenge prejudice.
  • Act as an ambassador for the home, and the company; demonstrating professionalism.
  • Understand current legislation and its application within the setting.
  • Complete internal auditing processes, and staff competency assessments, as required.
  • Participate in the ongoing evaluation and development of the home, with a commitment to continuously improve the service.
  • Develop own knowledge and practice; engaging with mandatory and supplementary training.
  • Be a reflective practitioner; able to identify own areas for development.
  • Have a commitment to completion of the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management in Residential Childcare.
  • Deputise in the absence of the Registered Manager; making decisions in line with the expectations of the Registered Manager, My3 Ltd, and Ofsted.
