The Pipefitter role at MEI Technical is a full-time, on-site position based in Londonderry. Day-to-day responsibilities include installing, assembling, and maintaining pipe systems for steam and other industrial applications, following drawings, specifications, and safety standards. The Pipefitter will measure, cut, thread, bend, and fit pipes, and may perform or support welding activities as required for system installation or repair. This role involves working closely with supervisors and other tradespeople to coordinate tasks, complete projects on schedule, and maintain a clean, safe work environment.

The position requires consistent adherence to safety protocols, accurate documentation of work performed, and effective communication with team members and clients on site.

• Candidates should possess strong skills in pipe installation and pipe fitting, including measuring, cutting, and assembling pipe systems.
• Candidates should possess welding skills relevant to pipe fitting work, including experience with TIG welding and general welding techniques.
• Candidates should possess knowledge and experience working with steam systems or similar industrial piping applications.
• Candidates should possess the ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Candidates should possess a strong commitment to workplace safety, including familiarity with relevant safety regulations and PPE use.
• Candidates should possess good problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Relevant vocational training, apprenticeship, or certification in pipe fitting or welding is beneficial; prior industrial or construction site experience is preferred.
