Myers and Stauffer LC is a certified public accounting and health and human services consulting firm that specializes in audit, accounting, data management and consulting services for state Medicaid agencies and the federal Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services. With 45+ years of experience, we support government clients with complex healthcare reimbursement and provider compliance issues across 21 offices and over 900 associates nationwide.

- Perform reviews of Medicaid provider cost reports
- Analyze health‑care provider financial information
- Conduct reimbursement calculations
- Prepare written documents supporting professional decisions
- Conduct desk reviews and on‑site audits
- Research billing and reimbursement compliance with Medicaid or other government regulations
- Perform all audit phases: planning, research, risk assessment, fieldwork, reporting, and related procedures
- Review federal and state policies and regulations relevant to each audit type
- Prepare working papers documenting scope and findings per Medicaid, other program regulations and AICPA standards
- Demonstrate excellence in communication, data gathering, analysis, reporting, and process improvement
- Maintain security and confidentiality of all protected health information during analysis
- Maintain thorough electronic documentation
- Other responsibilities as assigned
- Master’s degree in accounting or a related field
- CPA or CPA candidate
- Internship or equivalent work experience in accounting or a related field
- Experience in health‑care auditing and data analysis
- Ability to review statutory/regulatory or policy language and apply requirements
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Highly organized with attention to detail
- Proactive multi‑tasking, planning, and efficiency
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize assignments
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
- Willingness to travel based on client and business needs
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field
