Compensation
$75,000 - $90,000 annually. Final compensation determined based on relevant experience, qualifications, technical expertise, and overall alignment with the position requirements.
Work Arrangement- Full-time, in-office position. This role is not eligible for remote work.
- Preference will be given to candidates currently located in or near the Des Moines area.
A growing professional services organization is seeking an experienced tax professional to join its team. This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse mix of tax engagements while contributing to a collaborative, client-focused environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring quality, accuracy, and compliance across a variety of tax-related projects.
Position OverviewThe Senior Tax Accountant will be responsible for reviewing and supporting the preparation of various tax filings, conducting technical research, and assisting with complex tax matters. This position partners closely with internal team members and clients to deliver high-quality service and support ongoing process improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Review individual, partnership, and corporate tax returns for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
- Conduct tax research and assist with resolving complex tax matters.
- Provide guidance and support to team members on technical tax issues and review comments.
- Support tax planning initiatives, audits, and special projects.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, consistency, and overall efficiency.
- Assist with the preparation of tax returns during peak periods as needed.
- Communicate with clients to obtain required information and clarify project requirements.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support successful engagement execution.
- Perform additional analysis and project-based work as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- CPA preferred but not required.
- 2-5+ years of progressive tax experience.
- Prior experience reviewing tax returns preferred.
- Strong understanding of federal and state tax regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with tax preparation and accounting software preferred.
- Familiarity with financial reporting systems and related technology tools.
