Senior Bookkeeper (Onsite)
Compensation: $62,000 - $70,000 annually

Location: Des Moines, Iowa (Onsite)
Work Arrangement: Full-time, in-office position. This role is not eligible for remote work. Local candidates are preferred.
About the OpportunityA growing organization is seeking an experienced bookkeeping professional to join its team. The successful candidate will help ensure accuracy, consistency, and timely delivery of financial information across multiple engagements.
Position OverviewThe Senior Bookkeeper will be responsible for managing bookkeeping functions for multiple clients, reviewing financial information for accuracy, assisting with process improvement initiatives, and providing guidance to team members when needed. This position requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain and review financial records for multiple clients
- Record, reconcile, and monitor financial transactions
- Prepare monthly and periodic financial reports
- Review bookkeeping work for accuracy and completeness
- Assist in identifying and resolving discrepancies and transaction issues
- Support month-end and year-end accounting processes
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and related activities
- Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and other financial records
- Provide guidance and coaching related to bookkeeping best practices
- Communicate with clients regarding financial information and documentation requirements
- Assist with process improvements and efficiency initiatives
- Perform ad hoc reporting, analysis, and special projects as needed
- 5+ years of bookkeeping, accounting, or related financial experience
- Experience supporting multiple clients, entities, or business units preferred
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and financial reporting
- Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and general ledger activities
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Customer service experience preferred
- Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency
- Experience with accounting and bookkeeping software platforms
- Experience with Quick Books or similar accounting systems preferred
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications
