Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the processing of bi-weekly retirement community payroll(s).
- Responsible for submitting weekly, monthly, and quarterly tax files to ADP for community payrolls.
- Maintain federal, state, and local payroll tax records. Submit federal, state, and local tax files to ADP. Assist in reconciling tax accounts, annual reports, and other tax requirements.
- Understand and administer company policies relating to payroll compliance adhering to federal, state, and local regulations. Assist in designing, implementing, and maintaining payroll processing tools and participating in QA committee meetings.
- Audit employee data and various payroll related reports, reconciliations, and worksheets. Design and implement auditing processes for the payroll department. Track all audit findings and review them with managers.
- Assist in third‑party system implementations providing ongoing support.
- Work with IT support on systems issues. Organize periodic testing of system updates and upgrades.
- Work with other departments on pay‑related issues.
- Provide management, employees, and HR with information as requested.
- Provide backup assistance to the entire payroll team as needed.
- Minimum associate degree in accounting and/or related experience.
- 4–6 years of payroll experience in a complex multi‑state organization.
- CPP certification required (may attain credential within two years of employment).
- Knowledge of payroll laws and tax reporting regulations required.
- Experience with Oracle HCM Cloud system.
- Experience with time‑keeping systems.
- Must be proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks to meet all deadlines.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality with sensitive information.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong customer service skills.
- Strong problem‑solving skills with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work with little supervision, taking initiative in tasks that need to be done and using good judgment in making routine decisions.
