We are partnering with an established manufacturer in Des Moines, IA
Reporting directly to the Controller, this role will play a key part in the monthly close process, financial reporting, account reconciliations, process improvement initiatives, and cross-functional financial analysis.
This is a full-time, direct hire role that is onsite at their Des Moines facility but offers a flexible daytime M-F work schedule and opportunities for advancement.

Senior Accountant Responsibilities:- Maintain the general ledger, including journal entries, account reconciliations, account analysis, and month-end close activities
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes
- Serve as a key contributor for lease accounting, sales and use tax preparation and filing, and various financial reporting projects
- Partner with internal stakeholders to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial decision-making
- Identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency and strengthen internal controls
- Support compliance initiatives, including Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements, control documentation, and policy adherence
- Analyze business performance and provide meaningful financial insights to leadership
- Assist with tax schedules, state sales reporting, and other ad hoc accounting projects
- Collaborate across departments to improve the accuracy and timeliness of financial information
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience with manufacturing industry experience preferred
- Experience supporting or leading the month-end close process
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, and financial analysis
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and strong ERP skills. Power BI and AI skills a plus
- Strong attention to detail, analytical ability, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment
