Purpose

The tax compliance analyst supports EFCO’s tax operations by preparing compliance filings, assisting with audits, reconciling tax accounts, and maintaining documentation to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local tax regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Tax return preparation and filing support (45%)
    Assist in the preparation and filing of business, property, sales and use tax returns in multiple jurisdictions. Supports the preparation and filing of federal and state income tax returns.
  • Account reconciliation and reporting (20%)
    Reconcile tax-related general ledger accounts and support quarterly and annual tax provision calculations and reporting. Support international shipping and reconciliation of intercompany accounts.
  • Regulatory compliance research (10%)
    Monitor changes in tax regulations and assist with maintaining compliance across federal, state, and local jurisdictions.
  • Audit support and documentation (10%)
    Gather and prepare documentation for tax audits and notices. Support responses to tax authority inquiries.
  • Shareholder Services (10%)
    Process shareholder transactions, including stock transfers, issuances, repurchases, option exercises, and redemptions.
  • Special projects and administrative support (5%)
    Assist with special tax projects, data management, and process improvements as assigned.

Additional duties may be assigned as required by business necessity may be added, deleted, or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing to meet organizational goals and priorities.

Qualifications
  • Education: Associate s degree in accounting, finance, or related field required.
  • Experience: 1–2 years of experience in tax, accounting, or related financial operations preferred.

    Skills:

    Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with tax compliance software required.
  • Other Requirements: Strong knowledge of U.S. federal, state, and local tax compliance principles. Must have excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, time management to meet required filing deadlines and the ability to work independently while handling confidential information.
