Judicial Operations Clerk (D5 Polk 112020)
Salary: $44,553.60 - $70,428.80 annually (hourly range $21.42 - $33.86 per hour; contract‑covered, FLSA non‑exempt)
Job DescriptionThe Iowa Judicial Branch in the 5th Judicial District of Polk County seeks a Judicial Operations Clerk to perform a wide variety of clerical, secretarial, customer service, and data entry functions to support Juvenile Court Services and maintain court records.
Key Responsibilities- Create and process case‑related documents such as letters, police complaints, restitution orders, warrants, applications, motions, complaints, exhibits, and other official court documents.
- Provide customer service to Juvenile Court Services users in person and by phone, handling general requests.
- Support attorneys, judges, law enforcement, and other agencies with case information and processing.
- Maintain records and files, ensuring completeness and accuracy of documents, orders, warrants, and judgments.
- Operate the front desk and answer phones, interacting with court customers.
- Provide office support, including organizing equipment and supplies.
- Travel occasionally to other counties within the judicial district.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or high‑school equivalency diploma.
- At least one year of customer‑service experience.
- Proficient in computer database software and basic math skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication with attention to detail.
- Ability to secure confidential data and maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing situations.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel.
- Experience with clerical/secretarial duties.
- Experience managing confidential information.
- Experience with electronic document management systems (EDMS).
- Experience with Juvenile Court Services case‑management software.
