Position OverviewAs an Administrative Support Assistant 3 in the Building and Construction division, you will work under the supervision of the Bureau Chief at our central office near Valley Junction in Des Moines, Iowa. You will work in the Environmental Health and Contractor Bureau to support the Contractor Registration program.

- Working proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
- High level of organization skills.
- Experience with developing and providing training material for staff.
- Displays high standards of professional conduct.
- Detail‑oriented and highly responsive to colleagues and stakeholders.
- Vision to move programs and processes to a new efficient licensing platform.
- You will be an integral member of our team, providing administrative program assistance to the department in support of the agency’s operations.
- Provide customer assistance for permits, certifications, licensees and public.
- Support the department strategic communications plan.
- Develop outreach and communications social media strategies and content.
- Communicate with professional boards.
- Write, design, and edit program manuals, public information, websites, and reports.
- Utilize metrics in the preparation of strategic recommendations.

Within a period of time after hire, as determined by the appointing authority, employees in this class may be required to type at least 40 WPM net as demonstrated by the completion of a typing examination.
