Description
Provides secretarial support to the Emergency Department Administrator, Emergency Department, Mercy One, Mercy Ambulance and Dispatch and to Leadership Team which includes the Director, Unit Coordinators and Educator.

Essential Functions- Completes appropriate checklist of information relative to new hires and current employees to include Employee File, Employee Locker Assignment, Employee Keys and Mailboxes.
- Organizes all Leadership, Emergency Department, Mercy One, Mercy Ambulance and any other meetings which occur by reserving rooms, notifying staff, requesting agenda topics, agenda completion and creation and distribution of minutes as requested.
- Maintains Emergency Department and Mercy One Policy and Procedure Manuals (hard copy and online).
- Prepares documents as requested, utilizing Word, PowerPoint and/or Excel.
- Files, organizes and maintains all department and employee files.
- Assists in the creation of the Weekly Newsletter and distributes to designated staff.
- Codes and submits any emergency/CEC Department bills/invoices.
- Maintains schedule request book for Emergency Department Conference Room.
- Assists Director, Unit Coordinators and clinical educator with various audits (transfers out, restraints, nursing documentation).
- Orders all office supplies.
- Collects and distributes mail on a daily basis.
- Maintains office filing systems, forms and supplies.
- Forwards terminated employee files to Human Resources for retention.
Skills And Abilities
Required
- High school diploma preferred or high school equivalency.
- Two years recent diversified clerical/typing and word processing;
Excel, Powerpoint, and Outlook experience; utilize e‑mail and other various functions. - Background in medical terminology preferred.
