The Iowa Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Community Access and Eligibility Division, is seeking an Administrative Assistant 2 to perform administrative duties in the Lucas Building office. This position provides administrative assistance to the Field Eligibility Determinations Director and Leadership Team. This is a full-time opportunity, Monday - Friday with work hours being from 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM.
New hires will start at the base salary of $24.23 hourly, $1,938.40 biweekly, $50,398.40 annually.
Core Essential Functions- Provide administrative assistance including composing letters; maintaining appointment schedules; arranging and setting up meetings; greeting and screening visitors and callers; tracking and entering data into databases; coordinating responses to Requests for Information (RFI); maintaining up-to-date telephone, mail and email contacts; making referrals to appropriate staff or personally resolving issues; and copying and filing as needed.
- Understand and apply work rules, policy, regulations and procedures of the Eligibility Determinations program.
- Communicate effectively verbally and in writing; display active listening skills.
- Deal calmly and effectively with high stress situations
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions.
- Perform back-up responsibilities for all clerical staff or as assigned.
