The Part-Time Student Program is primarily designed to augment the Company's regular full-time staff and is for students who work in parallel to their school schedule YEAR-ROUND.
Your ResponsibilitiesAs a Part-Time Student
- Supply Management/Software Development for John Deere World Headquarters located in Des Moines, IA, or Waterloo, IA, you will:
Designs, builds, and supports data solutions that enable reliable analytics, reporting, automation of manual task execution, and process improvement for the Parameters Team across all regions. This role retrieves, transforms, connects, and organizes data from internal sources to support dashboards, reports, analytics products, and operational decision-making. The position partners with regional and global stakeholders to understand documented business processes, identify improvement opportunities, and translate requirements into scalable data and technology solutions.
The role requires practical experience with programming, Git Hub or similar code management tools, data platforms, and visual reporting applications. Experience converting documented manual processes into automated solutions is preferred.
This position is not available to students on immigration visas
What Skills You Need- Ideally, pursuing a bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, MIS, or a similar field; others may apply.
- Experience with Python or a similar coding language for scripting, automation, data transformation, or analytics support.
- Experience with SQL for querying, joining, validating, and preparing data.
- Experience with Git Hub or similar version control tools.
- Graduation date of Spring 2027 or later.
- Available to work during the academic year (16-20 hours weekly).
- Available to work during the summer semester (30-40 hours weekly).
- Must be registered as a full-time student at a U.S/local accredited university/college
- Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above.
- Must be able to commute to the work location in Des Moines, IA or Waterloo, IA on a daily basis.
NOTE:

- Experience with at least one visual reporting application, such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools.
- Experience working with databases, structured datasets, enterprise data sources, or reporting layers.

$15 - $40 hourly based on published rates for business function and education level.
