HOURS/DAYS
SCHEDULE:
Monday-Friday during program hours of 12:00-4:00p
PAY RANGE: $16.75-$18.00/hour

The Child Care Site Leader is responsible for creating and leading a culture and environment that supports our program objectives of Belonging, Achievement and Relationships, supervising and engaging program participants and staff, organizing and managing program activities, and establishing positive relationships with participants, parents and staff team members.
Essential Functions- Manage assigned program areas and activities, ensuring programs comply with all applicable YMCA policies and procedures, including Operating Standards and Emergency Procedures, and continually strive to attain the highest possible level of quality.
- Create and maintain a safe environment both physically and emotionally for all participants and staff.
- Maintain the Y-Voice in all that you say, do, and think in regards to your program – Welcoming, Nurturing, Hopeful, Determined, Genuine.
- Assist with planning, managing, and leading activities that create a relaxed environment with structure for desired outcome.
- Provide supervision and support to LITs and communicate concerns and issues with Child Care Leadership.
- Provide guidance and training to LITs, along with providing feedback to LITs.
- Ensure that LITs and participants are engaged in the activities.
- Establish positive relationships with staff, LITs, participants, guardians, including gaining an understanding of participants' specific needs.
- Follow all YMCA of Greater Des Moines policies, procedures, operating standards, and emergency procedures.
- Attend team meetings, trainings, and events assigned by the supervisor, including summer program training prior to the first week of summer programming.
- Must stay in compliance with all required trainings, certifications, and child care licensing regulations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor or designated staff person.
- Demonstrate and support the objectives of the Association as embodied in the mission statement and values.
