Job Description

Because of their continued growth, a General Contractor in your area is seeking a Commercial Construction Lead Estimator to join their team. The Lead Estimator is responsible for providing leadership and management to assigned projects safely, profitable, and timely. The Estimator manages the bids consistently with standards of quality and integrity and will participate in the marketing, estimating, bidding, and contract negotiation phases of the projects assigned.

Lead Estimator Role
  • Will be responsible for working on several potential projects valued between $10-250m.
  • Provides leadership, guidance, and expertise by defining, implementing, and monitoring department estimating resources, guidelines, best practices, and procedures.
  • Coordinates with a team and senior management to grow the business in line with the firm’s strategic direction.
  • Responsible for the completeness and accuracy of submissions.
  • Establishes team assignments and identifies estimating review dates.
  • Oversees and supports several projects from an operational, financial, and resource standpoint.
Lead Estimator Requirements
  • Degree educated in the commercial construction industry or discipline is highly preferred.
  • Experienced in negotiation bids on new build projects.
  • Strong portfolio of previous work in the relevant sectors.
  • Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of different construction methods, planning, scheduling, and sequencing.
