Safety Coordinator Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Safety Coordinator to oversee safety walk downs and craft labor safety inspections. This role involves ensuring that safe construction practices are adhered to at all times while supporting the steel contractor at a data center.
Responsibilities
- Conduct safety walk downs and craft labor safety inspections.
- Provide any applicable site training.
- Submit daily reports regarding safety practices and concerns.
- Update OSHA 300 log with recordable incidents.
- Ensure safe construction practices are utilized consistently.
Essential Skills
- Safety management
- Proficiency in OSHA standards, including OSHA 30 and OSHA 500 certifications
- Experience in construction and construction safety
- Minimum 5+ years of experience as a safety coordinator on commercial or industrial construction projects
- Experience supporting steel erection and dredging
- Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and be client-facing
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Certifications such as OSHA 500, CSP, CHST are required.
Work Environment
This position requires working 100% onsite at a data center, supporting the steel contractor. Expect to work 50+ hour weeks on average, including some weekends. Proper PPE is required at all times.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Des Moines, IA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr.
